The Mission 778 Series brings together three compact, beautifully matched hi-fi components that revive the brand’s electronics legacy while embracing modern music playback. Sharing the same elegant half-width design, symmetrical rotary controls, and dimmable display, the 778X integrated amplifier, 778S wireless music streamer, and 778CDT CD transport form a cohesive system that is space-efficient, versatile, and focused on pure musical enjoyment.
Mission — established in 1977 in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire — has long been admired for its dynamic, engaging loudspeakers that deliver exceptional value. The guiding principle has always been “Music is the master, technology follows,” and this philosophy now extends to the 778 Series electronics.
The series began with the 778X in 2022: Mission’s first integrated amplifier under its own name in nearly 40 years. Drawing inspiration from the original 1983 Mission 778, it combines classic simplicity with contemporary features and captivating sound – quickly establishing itself as a modern Mission classic that pairs superbly with Mission loudspeakers or any quality system.

The 778S wireless music streamer followed in early 2026 as Mission’s first dedicated network player. Developed in close partnership with streaming specialists Silent Angel, it provides effortless access to TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, and more -delivering stable, high-fidelity streaming with exceptional musical purity, housed in the same compact, elegant chassis.
Completing the trio, the 778CDT CD transport – also launched in 2026. Precision-engineered for accurate data retrieval and ultra-low jitter, it breathes new life into cherished CD collections — as well as music stored on USB devices — via clean digital outputs. When partnered with the 778X’s internal DAC, or any high-quality external converter, it delivers uncompromised digital playback true to the Mission ethos.
